Termite Damage

There are many obvious signs that there is a termite infestation in your house or the potential property you want to buy. Look for the following but if you are unsure, then get a termite inspection report from us:

Mud Tubes - Visible on the surface around the perimeter of your property as small tubes which the termites travel in

Power Shorts - Termites are attracted to warm places like electrical fittings, so if you spot a build-up of earthy materials it’s probably termites

Floor and Ceiling Damage - Blisters, cracks or sags on beams, skirting boards or laminated floors are a sure sign of termites, especially if it sounds hollow

Flying Insects Outside - If you have swarms of white flying insects during summer, then these are white flying termites and a sign you have colonies close by

There are many other signs like hearing a clicking or knocking in your walls, but to be sure get a termite inspection report from All Star Pest Control and we will advise on the best treatment for your home or property.

Termite Inspections

If you have followed the above tips but are still unsure if you have termites or don’t know how bad it is, then the only real way to know is to book a termite inspection from ASPC. This way we will provide a full report on how bad the infestation is, how much damage there is and also what to do about it. In short, an inspection is the first real step in getting rid of termites. Many homeowners or businesses may have identified termites in a single location and thought the problem was not too serious and used over-the-counter treatments or done nothing at all. This is a serious mistake as all the time wasted on inaction is time the termites could be seriously damaging your property and also increasing in size and area making them more expensive in treating. Don’t delay, if you think you have termites, call the experts at ASPC immediately.

Do I have termites or ants?

It can be hard to tell the difference, but termites are white and translucent and their antennas are straight whereas ants are bent. Termites are also thicker around the waist section whereas ants are narrow. Both species have flying varieties but termite wings are the same size whereas ants’ front wings are larger.

There are no white ants, hence termites get called “white ants”, so anything similar to an ant that’s white is a termite.

What is a termite inspection report?

A termite inspection report is a full survey based upon a licensed pest controller inspecting all areas of your property inside and out to check for signs of termites, what species, where they are, what treatments should be used and prevention measures. This is also often called a timber inspection. Our reports comply with Australian standards and can be used pre-purchase when buying a property.

How much does a termite inspection cost?

Our Termite Inspection Report is currently only $275! This is incredible value for money for a licensed inspection report that meets Australian standards.

How much does a termite treatment cost?

This obviously depends on the nature of the termites and how bad the infestation is. Subterranean termite treatments can range from $300 to $1500 whereas a house-wide termite infestation can be $5000. All this depends on many factors so give us a call for a free quote or get a termite inspection report where we will outline a full plan of options.

Will termites go away on their own?

No. It’s a common misconception that termites will eventually disappear. The reality is that they will only ever do is if they have fully consumed your house! Termites need dark, warm, moist places to live with sweet and sticky foodstuffs available and will slowly eat their way through your timber and plaster causing immense damage over time.
